FOR TECHNICAL SECTION : SSC JE paper 1 consist of 100 technical objective questions and paper 2 is totally based on technical knowledge . 
BOOKS- for paper 1 you can choose ,
                  1. R.S Khurmi by S.chand publication .
                  2. Mechanical engineering by youth publication .
 above two books are sufficient for preparation of technical section for paper 1 as, they have sufficient no. of questions to practice . 
           
For paper 2 , you should have detailed knowledge of your subject as it is totally of subjective type , you can take help from your textbooks or can get some specialized notes from online  platforms .

FOR GENERAL INTELLIGENCE AND REASONING :
For reasoning preparation you can practice ,
General intelligence and reasoning by R.S Aggarwal . It will also help you in other examination . 
You can also prepare for reasoning section by going through reasoning sections of previous years papers .

FOR GENERAL AWARENESS :
General awareness for SSC JE consist of general science , general studies ( History , Geography , Political science , Economics ) , current affairs , general knowledge . For preparation of  all the section you can choose ,
